I Write This Poem

by MaryDal

.

Thoughts keep dancing through my head

Things I’ve thought, things I’ve said;

Things I’ve heard, things I’ve read,

A poem screams out to me.

Can silence be found among the chatter,

Among the clings, clangs and clatter;

Boings, bangs and bug splatter,

A poem screams out to me.

Will music tame the savage beast,

A lion, tiger, wildebeest;

Playing joyfully…a love feast

A poem screams out to me.

Joy-filled songs and silly laughter,

Living life with each new chapter;

Gliding, sailing, feeling rapture,

A poem screams out to me.

Thoughts keep dancing through my head,

Things I’ve thought, things I’ve said;

Things I’ve heard, things I’ve read,

A poem screams out to me.
