Love, by Marlene Daley
Love is an emotion,
Like hate, joy and sorrow.
It’s here today, was yesterday,
And will be here again tomorrow.
Love is like a gentle breeze
That blows across the land;
A pillowy sky, a calm calm sea,
The sun upon the sand.
Love is like a blazing fire
On a cold wintry night.
It warms a shivering body
With the sparking of its light.
Love is God’s most greatest gift,
It’s worth its weight in gold.
It’s demanded by the young
And cherished by the old.
Per chance you feel you’ve lost it
And your heart begins to roam;
Just look upon a newborn child,
That love will soon be home.
